About The Role

We are looking for a Designer to lead the design of our Phase Eight Ready To Wear Collection. This opportunity is a 12-month fixed term contract starting ASAP. This opportunity will see you focus on our jersey and softs product.

Our Design team are at the core of our business, creating the mood, colour palette, prints and key shapes of our collection each season that offer our Phase Eight customer a point of difference. The Designer will spearhead the creative handwriting and design of our Ready To Wear collection, maintaining and building upon the heritage and success of our product handwriting and striving to deliver contemporary newness.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Working in close partnership with our Design, Buying and Merchandising teams to build collections which are both creative and commercial
  • Spearhead sketch and swatch meetings with a keen awareness of current and previous product performance
  • Research seasonal themes and inspirations, sketch the collection and present at design development meetings to the Head of Design
  • Build the moodboards and colour palettes and lead the print brief at the start of each season, meeting the design brief as set by our Head of Design
  • Create technical packs for selected designs with specification sheets

About You

We are looking for a Designer who possesses extensive knowledge of womenswear design, particularly within tops, skirts and dresses.

The Designer will have an acute awareness of seasonal trends and captivate audiences as a brand ambassador, passionately presenting collections at meetings, launches, partner visits, and team gatherings. You will demonstrate technical knowledge of womenswear design having delivered womenswear collections within a luxury/fashion brand previously. Expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD skills will allow you to translate your vision into reality. Excellent communication skills are key to collaborating effectively within our blended work environment. You'll thrive in a collaborative atmosphere, embracing the unique culture of Phase Eight.
