About The Role

We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join us on a permanent contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our eventwear offer for the Phase Eight customer.

Our buyers play a crucial role in our business, developing and delivering commercial and profitable product ranges that set our Phase Eight brand apart. The Assistant Buyer will work closely with the Head Of Occasionwear on the department to anticipate and meet the needs of our global customers, ensuring a well-balanced range that aligns with our product and overall brand strategy.

Key accountabilities include in this role include:

  • Overseeing and managing the critical path for each season’s buying activity on the eventwear department ensuring key deadlines are maintained and product is developed and delivered in time
  • Assist the Head Of with prepping meetings and presenting of range reviews where needed
  • Coaching and developing the Buying Assistant on the department, offering support in their day-to-day and the development of their skills
  • Liaising with suppliers on a day-to-day basis, managing prices, new developments and orders whilst utilising best negotiating skills
  • With guidance from the Head Of drive trade on a daily and weekly basis, chasing into strong reactions and seeding new ideas
  • Anticipate new trends and product opportunities within event whilst meeting the needs of our Phase Eight customer

About You

We are looking for an Assistant Buyer with relevant buying experience who is looking for that next step in their career. Proven experience in a Buying department and developing a comprehensive product range is crucial for success in this role.
