About The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to lead the Merchandising function at our Whistles brand.
You'll be responsible for driving the commercial performance of our product ranges across the brand and leading a large team to achieve success.
 
Reporting directly to our Chief Product Officer, the Merchandising Director role is crucial to the success of driving commercial growth and profitability across a variety of business functions and brand touchpoints along with achieving the brand commercial sales and margin plan that impacts the Group strategy.
 
This role is a crucial part of the brand senior leadership team (SLT) and will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of the wider business demonstrating a broad organisational context and engaging with the Brand SLT and TFG Executive Committee on an ongoing basis.

As a member of the senior leadership team you'll be to be in our London Euston office 3-4 days a week (Mon-Thurs).

About You

To be successful in the role the following skills, experience and behaviours are required:
 Skills & experience:
  • Extensive commercial leadership ability with proven experience of delivering commercial KPIs (profits and growth)
  • Demonstrable experience of creating, leading, and delivering joined up strategic and operational merchandising excellence
  • Demonstrable commercial ability, demonstrating end to end business acumen and how Merchandising influences the P&L of the business
  • Operationally in tune with the pace and detail orientation of retail, whilst also having the strategic and operational capacity to think beyond the immediate and plan for anticipated shifts in customer behaviour, driving the role of the brand in an ever-changing world
  • Demonstrable skill and experience of driving Sales and ROI through cross brand teams and activities
  • Clear ability to process, analyse and interpret large amounts of complex data coupled with the ability to communicate this to non-financial experts
  • Proven experience of managing large teams and budgets
  • Proven ability and experience to work collaboratively across a group business and build and maintain stakeholder relationships internally and externally 
  • Purpose driven leader who can drive change and keep customers at the heart of our business
  • Proven experience of driving digital transformation and championing the voice of the customer
  • People leader able to inspire with humility and authenticity
  • Awareness and expertise of emerging technologies and relevant developments in the external industry
